I've been with my current counselor for almost a year. I was reflecting about our sessions and it appears that she has a strong opinion about my being involved with groups of people. I have mentioned that her life sounds exhausting to me (she is always dealing with people, has 3 kids who are involved with sports, etc), and I'd like to have fewer people in my life, and be involved with fewer groups.

But, she keeps pushing me.

I guess I don't get it. If my personality is such that I don't like being involved with groups, why can't she just accept that?

Is there some rule [thou must be involved w/ groups of people] someone forgot to tell me about?
