We've been taking care of a stray dog, a jack russel female...excellent dog. It's the first dog I've ever seen my husband take too. Anyway, we let her in at night since it's winter and we feed her whenever. Then we let her out to roam the complex. The entire apartment complex chips in to care for her, she's such a sweetheart. We can't be charged pet deposits if in actuality it's not ours...but the neighborhoods. If I were you I'd just give it the care it needs and let it in when it's very bad outside. Outside cats usually know to go potty outside, but watch it. Hope all goes well.
