When I use to study dreams I read somewhere that anxiety dreams are the most common. Well, last night I was awakened after dreaming a large black spider, one of those with long skinny legs

ran across my bare shoulder or under my arm or something in bed. I could "feel" it and sort of woke up which was a little worse because of trying to figure out its trajectory, "where" it may have gone while at the same time constantly reminding myself it was a dream, there was no spider (and having my head constantly retort, "Yes, but what if there were?" :-) I finally had to get up and come downstairs.
I started the night trying to get myself to concentrate on dreaming a solution to what I should "do" next. I have 3-4 large "areas" I could work on and I'm wishing I could decide what really interests me. I keep dabbling in all of them and it's not possible to do that effectively. But instead of picking one and "trying" it I just keep sort of thinking about it instead and letting the days drift, saying I'll get on it in the new year, etc.

An ancient symbol for weaving, and thus for creativity. The dreamer may be going through a rough time in life, and need to find a creative solution to resolve the situation. Dreaming of a spider can be reassuring: You have it in you to find the solution. (From MSN astrology center dream dictionary.)

But what does it mean if your spider gets away?
