Hello friends,
Today I was looking for some therapy here in London. I also asked to the NHS for free therapy but the most they can offer os 6 sessions or, very rarely, 20 sessions. I read that fighting depression requires times, in the worst cases also years, so how can a 6 sessions-therapy help me or others?
The private therapy I was looking for on the internet are bloody expensive and I can't afford those type of counselling. I'm sure a lot of other people are in my situation.
I know that the majority of you are from the USA so I'm not really sure how things work across the pond, but don't you think depression is considered as a posh-mental illness? If you have money you will be treated, otherwise we will talk with you for a month and then adios!
If i break my leg I will be treated, maybe paying some type of fee, but not £160 every time I go and see my MD.
This situation is very frustrating for me because I had finally decided to ask for help after 6 years of living hell, and know I know I won't be able to afford therapy.
What do you think?
