This. And also, even if sticking up for yourself brings you pain, it's a heck of a lot better-feeling pain to me than the pain from not sticking up for yourself.
I mean, I'm in pain from the divorce, from Smaug, from finally getting to end with No. 3, but I'll take it over still being stuck in that marriage, being bullied by Smaug, and as for 3 that pain will pass rather than eat away at me.
