Also I'm debating whether it's too dangerous to tell HR why I really take issue with my boss's actions.

That I am the nutjob he claims I am (though in 'remission')

Not sure whether that would adversely affect my career, whether they will maintain confidentiality, whether my credibility will be impacted etc etc.
