I sometimes wonder if psych meds do more harm than good but tend to think there is a place for them but that they are overprescribed. For example, I was given an antidepressant and xanax and don't remember the psych suggesting therapy first. I also wish the doctors would think about prescribing them on a short term basis (and lower dosages) rather than wanting us to take them for the rest of our lives--it's like they want us as paying customers forever. What do you think of the video I posted here?

My only suggestion is what I am doing--on the one I am hooked on (my antidepressant) I am tapering very, very slowly. Because it is well known that xanax is addictive--I have always been careful not to take to much but feel like I was not given that sort of information regarding my antidepressant and my doctors have not supported my wish to try cutting it back. But I am going to figure out a way. I am determined.......
Also--I am taking vitamin C, niacin, eating healthy (including salmon for the Omega 3s), exercising and getting sunshine while I cut back my dosage....
