Trouble is that craving carbs is part of the syndrome. Part of your body trying to prepare for the famine lol. It can be hard to fight the bodys natural inclination. i've realised that I tend to eat carbs for emotion regulation, too. Being loaded with carbs helps one feel a little sedated with is great for anxiety lol.
I think that it is possible to eat a healthy vegan or vegetarian diet - but that it takes a little more care than a lot of people realise. Fruit and vegetables are terrific for one. I'm trying to replace carbs with vegetable stirfrys and salads and stuff like that. Tofu is a rich source of protein, for example, and works well as a meat / fish substitute. Do you eat fish at all (some vegetarians do). Fish is great for you - but tofu is a good substitute if you don't.
