Seems to me that touching psychotherapy patients/clients without permission is a pretty good way to get punched in the face. Well, touching anyone without permission, for that matter.
Thinking about my T making a demonstrative gesture makes me want to punch him in the face. He's always been good about staying 3-4 feet away. Except when we were doing EMDR. Ugh. I still twitch slightly when I think about that.
If it's something one wants in one's therapy, though, I imagine it could be helpful to at least talk about that.
