I have the same feeling on I imagine the mascots as predators and they would devour me or others. I made up my stories in my mind on how I was going to be eaten.
I also have had obsessions with a number of animal characters in the past, especially the anthropomorphic ones.
I could request/commission my own creative ideas to an artist to make them appear visually. That would be easier to cut my obsession I have. If I would make one, I could imagine a gay, cute, hot furry guy with a sexy voice. However, that would be hard to find one.
