I honestly feel it's wrong to exclude ANYONE from community-oriented threads.

Maybe it's best, from now on, to have moderators create community threads. This way, people can block who they want and we don't have to worry about inclusivity
Edit: there should be a sticky in the community FAQ forum to let people know that moderators are the only ones who can post community threads
