question... has anyone checked out the two threads... if so you will find that they are vastly different....
one is community wide where everyone is checking in about how they are doing that day (in other words not necessarily focusing on listing ones goals to accomplish with combating their eating disorder, just a daily check in as in hi Im here, Im feeling ok to day or I ate too much or too little yesterday kinds of posts)
the other thread is specific where a member has a specific goal that they want to complete and work on.
I see no reason why the two threads should or is conflicting with the other community wide thread... they are two different things...
also the ignore feature is not a punishment of preventing others from posting their points of view.. anyone who is on someones ignore list is free to make their own thread and post reflecting their own points of view...
example if I see a thread discussing mood swings and I find out that I am on the original posters ignore list I can post about my own situation with mood swings by starting my own thread.
I look at the ignore list and not being able to post in every single members thread just like real life. in real life there are people that we dont want to be friends with or engage in conversation with and there are people who do not want to be my friend and engage in conversation with me... does that mean I cry and ask someone to force the other to have contact with me or have someone force me to have contact with them.... of course not. in real life its just normal to know people who I dont like and dont want to have contact with and its normal for me to know people who do not like me and dont want contact with me....
bottom line the ignore feature is there for a reason.. the person who is using it (me and every one else who uses it on psych central) are taking care of their self and their own triggers and such. I do use the ignore feature frequently and am not offended when I find a thread I can not participate in... why? because its not preventing me from discussing that topic. if its that important to me I just start my own thread about what I deal with around the same topic/ issue.
