I'm kind of new here too maybe not that new but don't often come here or post here. I've read some of your stuff and I think it's great progress you are making. Freud as we know states that not only was it common for the "analysand" (patient) to fall in love with analyst (therapist) it was unavoidable.

As well, an analyst cannot possibly remain a detached observer forever.

I think the "love" goes both ways in your case. He is obviously very fond of you, in addition to wanting to help you therapeutically. Ask him! I dare ya ;-)
