This sounds a lot like me. The last time I was entering a mixed episode, I was also put on Seroquel to bring me down. Every minute started feeling like agony from the anxiety, agitation, and I get very, very sensitive to noise. High dose Seroquel did do its job, but not over night. Things did get better, slowly but surely, and with a lot of monitoring. Also, my Lamictal was upped from 200 mg to 400 mg daily. It was so hard playing the waiting game, but it was worth it. Seroquel worked faster, but it didn't feel like fast enough at the time.
At night, I tried to play meditation music out of desperation to quiet my mind, and it was better than nothing. Guided imagery is good, and you can type it into youtube. It was probably the best thing I did as far as coping.
Big hugs

These episodes feel like they will last forever and that nothing will get better, but please hang in there. This won't last forever.
