It didn't play out like that at all.
Basically, Indiegogo is a website for crowd funding activities, where users are awarded "perks" for donating cash to fund the production of a film, or whatever. Special thanks credits in the final cut are often among the things awarded to donators, but sometimes the package can include you getting a digital copy of the film, a high quality poster, the script, or even a part in the film as an extra.
I donated just to get a thank you. To be an extra, they wanted a £700 donation. Yeah. They can go bang their mothers. However, I asked on Facebook because they had an ad on Facebook about wanting extras. Lots of people who fund their movies on Indiegogo are also registered on Twitter and Facebook anyway.
As I just said, typically, the same people advertise for extras on a Facebook film production group that anybody can apply to for free, unless the ad links to a casting agency. Then you register and sometimes pay a fee to join. However, they may still want a bit of information or a demo reel. They usually ask people to appear as an extra in Facebook posts regardless of that other site they use. So this is why I generally do not offer money in advance, unless I really like the sound of the plot for a film and have that cash at my disposal. Because if you can get cast for nothing, why donate cash?
However, they likely saw my YouTube videos, deemed me as a retard, and decided to block me. Not once did I say a thing out of place. It's a case of these jerks being so ungrateful. But sadly, this business is very soul destroying.
