Would this be the quote from 1oxboxgirl you are referring to....

There in lies the danger. I don't think we are suppose to look inside our selves for God. The God, I worship is outside myself high in the heavens above me. I only hold the essence of Him & the Holy Spirit within me. The use of repetitive prayer and meditation can open us up to the spirits of Satan, who has the ability to imatate God, thus fooling us into believeing what we are feeling and seeing, being healed of and perhapes saying is coming from God, when it is not.

I remember reading this and having a bit of a problem with it but didn't raise it at the time because I do respect what she has to say and that it reflects her truth and for the most part my truth too.

I'll comment now with respect..... outside/inside, where is God. I had to think about that for a long while because I do feel as though its my heart where my spirit lives and from my heart that I know God so I'm not sure I understand the inside/outside question. I settled with giving liberty to the use of the word 'essense' to describe the God in me that connects my spirit to his love.

While I can appreciate and believe that the spirits of evil/satan are tricksters and can delude believers... I've witnessed people being led into deception.... I also appreciate and believe that the spirits of good/God are greater and protection is but a word away. Whenever I feel the presence of evil I am called to pray in the flesh and in the spirit to clean out the bad spirits.

I'm not disagreeing with 1oxboxgirl. I don't underestimate the power of evil to hurt the people of God, to try to separate people from God, to disceive and confuse the world. I also know that Jesus already defeated the 'enemy' and while I may be 'bothered' by bad spirits I don't underestimating or doubting ever the power of my God and my faith in the power of goodness, in spirit and in deed to turn out the enemy at every turn.
