I have three stepsons, 30 to 41 in age. It's hard to get them together all at once as they are doing lots of other things. Tomorrow we're going to their mother's house and only the middle son with wife and grandbabies are going so we're showing up at that middle son's house early Christmas morning and the other two boys will be there. The oldest boy lives with the middle boy and his family at the moment while he's getting some debts paid and on his feet again. But we rarely have things happening at our house except in the summer; we bought a boat as a son/grandchild "magnet" :-) But we're happy to travel around to where-ever we're invited, LOL.
Do you know where he goes during Christmas week? Are there any other family parties or whatnot you can "catch" him at? This year we have 2-3 where all the sons will be there so we'll manage to get them all their gifts but I still remember one year when the youngest didn't show up until the next summer I think it was to get his Christmas gift :-) It mostly has depended on his job and hobbies, apparently young men are busier than I remember being as a young woman :-) Some years work better than others. Additional incentives besides just ourselves help too I've noticed.
