But they aren't scratches (I wish it were just a scratch or chip...) it's that the entire glossy coat of the enamel on both pots is GONE. Scrubbed clean off.
My guess is it's not dangerous to cook with, but the bottoms will continue to degrade, the food will stick, and become impossible to deglaze fully.
