I did not think anything much about the shoes when the woman wore them other than it didn't look like she was super stable walking on them. But she had some sort of foot /leg surgery a year so ago and I thought that was the problem. I wear sneakers 99% of the time – shoes are just not something I pay that much attention to other than to think oh my goodness those look uncomfortable
