What worked for me was finally coming to the realization that they are not real and that my own brain is creating them.

Stop paying any attention to them. Let go of them.

Mindfulness exercises help. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps a lot. Get that text book and read it. It helped me so much.
