That was very and still is frustrating to me.
Why people are ignorant to ADD/ADHD is because, the healthy grown ups, in my case, parents, refuse to believe that it actually exists.
Since my mother whom I cut ties with, with the help of my T's advice, is narcissistic in nature, she wants to blame all my faults at me.
She doesn't want to excuse me that my mental health condition was the key factor to many of my poor life choices.
I wish you the best.

I'm always dismayed when I hear therapists advise people to cut ties with their parents, I'm surprised they don't suggest you ask your parents about their upbringing, just so you can get an insight into why they are the way they are. My sister is very nasty about my mum, but if I'm honest, my mum was better to us than my sister was to her daughter. I don't think cutting ties should be done unless its absolutely last resort.
