Its A SCAM, we are probably more on the mark than they are when it comes to where we are having problems. Its the biggest scam ever and I have given up trying to get help now, I think a life coach and some good friends would do me wonders, after so many years battling depression and mood swings, trauma of all types, to be told at the end of an assessment that you don't have depression or anxiety and you possibly have had ADHD all along is enough for me to know that Phsychiatry is a scam. If I did a documentary and went to 20 different psychiatrists with the same symptoms, they would all have different diagnosis's. What is really alarming is the side effects of medication when they GUESS the wrong DISORDER. Its a money making scam, they charge ridiculous amounts of money to sit and PLAY GOD with your mental health.

ADD/ADHD has enough scientific and neuropsychological explainations. There are even symptoms that can be found in the brain itself;smaller size(not by alot) and frontal lobe functioning less effeciently. Theres more but im not a neuropsychologist, while i agree that most diagnosises are given too quickly i cant agree on you saying the syndrome is nonexistant. Dr Amen believes every psychologist should scan their patients brain in order to help and/or get a better view on thr problems.
Another thing, ADD/ADHD can cause other problems such as depression and anxiety. Doesnt mean they arent there but with proper diagnosis and treatment they should improve(as they had with me). And unlike populair believe on Methylfenidate and Amphetamine being dangerous(which in the long run is) also helps. Now you should realise taking these medications is only helpful when you actually need them, lets say you have an important meeting or studies. There not there to cure the syndrome but to assist someone with the syndrome to function properly. After you take this medication and combine it with lets say Cognitive therapy, your brain should be able to be less chaotic and more thoughtful because it learnt to behave that way.
In my case i(and many others) avoid complex situations, it gives stress and stress leads to chaos. Having ADD it only gets worse, but while on medication it doesnt. I learnt to relativate, and when im off medication the impact still is there but admist all chaos im able to think and say "Just because its harder doesnt mean i dont want to do it or be stressfull about it." Whereas a few months ago idve automatically searched for something easier. This ultimately lead me to make easy choices for my education but in the longrun i didnt want them, and as soon i had the confidence id return to that point, fail again and run away again.
Its fairly easy to see that i have ADD , i had 3 diagnosises from multiple psychiatrists and psychologist. While i believe the majority of them to bed absolutely terrible i dont believe this syndrome to be in any way fake or a scam. Id suggest you finding a better psychologist, and then a psychiatrist.
Sorry for the long post.
