I have bipolar with attention deficit also. I am currently taking straterra for focus. I was on adderall but I enjoyed it too much and managed to get the amount upped and got so jacked up I was knocking myself out at night with alcohol and trazodone. This was putting my health and marriage in jeopardy and I righted the ship a little over a month ago. No more alcohol and no more stimulants. Straterra is interesting; where the stimulants give you a push to motivate you, straterra helps you steer. It took a couple of weeks to really kick in and the I noticed I was staying on tasks instead of hopping around.

and I am doing a little chin scratching. Is it hypomania that was diagnosed as ADHD? I hid my bipolar diagnosis (first diagnosed in my mid 30s, 23 years ago) and was tested for ADHD by someone who knew nothing of my bipolar diagnosis. I do need (or at least do better with) an attention enhancing med in the mix.
