I got... the message several ways...

"I care about you... and I care for you"..

I looked for T... that was in small partnership.. who had money enough to retire.. if he wanted... and so.. know that he is in the "business" because he does care about people.

He.. has told me cares about me... because of the extreme abuse that I went thru.... that gave me the DX of DID..

He... has told me about his... "spirit and faith"... though not how it sounds... not specifically.... like I believe in God.. and XYZ.... but that his spirituallity.... includes caring about people... that reasonates with me... because with my faith... I very much "care" about people.. and I help strangers even... so I know in my heart... where "he is coming from"...

so... many ways for me..

and also... may I add by comparision... I have been with therapists.. incapabile.. of caring for themselves... because they.. are a "mess" themselves... and can't get beyond that.. so how on earth.. could they even begin to have room for me..

Just my opinion.... so really... not looking for any debates.. on my opinion..
