I went twice a week for short periods - I remember
going twice a week for a month, I think.
It was after a really huge thing had happened in my life, partly as a result of therapy. (I stood up for myself, and that resulted in a huge family blow up which was quite dramatic.)
During that time, going to therapy twice a week felt very supportive for me.
I think that for me, it's good that I didn't go twice a week throughout my therapy,because possibly I could have become even more consumed with therapy, and I think it was good to have balance in my life and spending time with friends, hobbies etc. But in the time of crisis it was supportive. I think it totally depends on the person and the circumstances.
