Given my age.. and my profession choice.... I broke ground.. in the male "old boys" network... it was not easy.. I worked in a department with 350 people.. within a huge corporation... and perhaps 10 percent of the 350 were female... so.. I had to be better... more dedicated.. and very tough skinned to "make it"... often I would be in a meeting with 50 or so men.. and me the only woman... I fought.. and fought hard for women's rights....I got promoted... but.. there was a glass ceiling.. I got. the "stinky on-call. - the holidays.. the installations.. I got jokes about breasts and butts.. I got a male telling me about his "hot" dream about me..... I got excluded from lunch with the guys because quote " they felt uncomfortable about checking out the women when I was there.. unquote"...and they were married..I got excudled from the weekly poker party... which would have been fine.. BUT management was the host of the party.. thereby making it inapporpriate... since business was also discussed at the poker party...

My manager.. told me I made less pay because I was a woman and that was just the way it is...... I got more hours - I was salary... I cleaned up the men's messes when they screwed up.. I covered for my male manager.. who drank..

I got called "sweet thing", "honey", and a bunch of other names... yet.. the males on the team... didn't get called those names...so though.. I was project manager and had responsibility for the team... in a meeting.. my manager.. called me "sweet thing"...

In one review.. I pointed out... "ah, there are no women in middle management"... and a token one was appointed..

My point in this long post... is I am very, very sorry to hear that sexism still exists... women such as myself fought long and hard.. to even the scale... and yet... there it is...

there it is... alive.. and still breathing..

this does not "fix" your problem.... just know.. that other women.. have also gone thru sexism on the job...and fought long and hard to make it go away...
