[QUOTE=Macd123;5761131]I'm doing a solo trip to the Caribbean tomorrow and I'm having a lot of trouble convincing myself I should be doing this. I've traveled alone before and it was okay but this time I'm really struggling..... I'm just writing this to convince myself that I'll be okay. My anxiety is high and my energy level isn't where it should be. The fact that I'm leaving the country and I'll be alone always makes me tense. Why do I do this to myself - I guess because I want to have a life like everyone else....thanks 😳😳😳

I'm responding to this even though you never respond to my responses, haha. I'm sure you have posted something similar before. Why do you always travel alone if it makes you tense, anxious and miserable? Solo travel has it's advantages but is that much harder when you are older. Why not join trips where you are guaranteed to meet people. How about a cruise. You get all the facilities and you can be as reclusive or as sociable as you want. Probably lots of couples but there will be cruises for singles as well.
Or group tours. Not as flexible as solo travel but maybe the trade off is worth it.
Kudos to you for starting the meetup group. Shame it didn't last but hmm, maybe people are solo travellers for a reason. And again older people maybe don't have the joie de vivre of younger people. Huge generalisation, of course.
Ok, not expecting a response . Have a good day.
Thanks for this!
