mannaguy!

Welcome to PC. Glad you found us and I hope you find what you are looking for here.

Anytime I hear of folks that are on meds and either not taking them when prescribed or supplementing them with alcohol is a huge red flag to me.

Alcohol as you probably know is a depressant. It will work against meds as well as make a dangerous cocktail which could cause severe health risks.

If you are really wanting to learn how to deal with her drinking, Alanon is a great option for you. I highly recommend. Anything that you can do to help understand what is going on is a help not only to you but also for your girlfriend.

Maybe if you started attending Alanon, she might start to see what is going on and be willing to attend an AA meeting. If not that, at the very least she might mention to her p-doc that she is drinking while taking her meds.

Maybe you can speak to your T about the issue. Since you are obviously concerned for her health, maybe your T can help point you in a positive direction for finding assistance for your girlfriend.

I wish you both well.
