Yeah, from what I've read, they're a lot more responsibility than a cat or even dog. It sounds like they require a lot of attention when they're awake.

The only drawback I had with them is that they have a very unique and distinctive smell that I do not miss on one hand, but it did not outweigh the benefits of having them; however not everyone can tolerate the scent / glands though as it can permeate a room or a house depending on the size of it.

Everybody mentions the smell. Something I guess that needs to be experienced first-hand to know if it's more than you are willing to put up with.
