Yes, try and cut back. I only pay $10 a month for earthlink (they keep offering that for 6 months for new members, so I talk to a supervisor and say, I can quit and rejoin and get the price, or can you give it to me? Yep.)

Our State has a fund for those needing utility assistance, especially for heat. Does yours?

Or, call the gas company and work out some arrangements. Is it legal for them, knowingly, to deny you if you ask for gas in winter? If they don't know, they can't help. I know here they can't shut off water to a house, no matter how late they are paying....
