I remember when we had a sz group chat and the main topic was relationships. Another person joined in who didn't have sz and thought our dating tips were unrelated to our diagnosis. People with sz often do live an isolated life. The paranoia and persecuted thoughts can be damning to an individual. Also the numbing effects many of us feel may detach us from a need to be as social as we once were maybe. I don't know about this, that's just a thought.
