Sooooooooo this could go in the spiritual and religion board - but not everyone would understand it.
Hopefully i am not alone in being confused; the alters are of different religious beliefs - and battle it out (internally) when around religious ceremonies.
Take tonight for example; i'm a singer, so i was drafted into a church choir when there were no altos. I haven't done church in a while - and not real church ever. this was real church. I am used to the kraft singles version...
So the alters pull their boxing gloves on. Some are wiccan. The kids are christian. The adults can't take the prayer and rites and so forth. The adults change the christian words to wiccan words internally.
The kids are feeling orphaned and abandoned in this season and keep expecting God to throw a lightening bolt at the body for harboring such pagan thoughts. They just want love and acceptance, the adults want to run for the hills.
Take this a step further and the kids are afraid that - should the Rapture be real and come, where will everyone end up? The kids believe, and are kids anyway, so technically (according to gospel) should be "saved" and taken to heaven. The adults do not believe in heaven nor the rapture and whole heartedly agree with a bumper sticker seen reciently "Come the Rapture, the Pagans will inherit the Earth". The kids are terrified that, if there is a h**** they will burn for evermore in it because of the adults... or even worse are afraid the soul might be split into the 12 or so parts and the pagan parts well go you know where.

This is all in the mind at 1am. THis is why i don't go to church - creates far too much confusion. Oh and the body wears wiccan symbols, the kids are trying to cover them up while everyone says the Lord's Prayer - something i don't know and have never memorized. The brain is found to be quoting "There's a Witch! May we burn her?"
Tis a cunfunding thought on the eve of the most holy christian holiday.
