Do you have a therapist you can talk to to develop some coping skills for the hallucinations and other symptoms you have? I find coping skills help me way more than meds do.
IME sometimes the voices say things that are psychologically meaningful, and sometimes they're random. For example, I used to hear a man and a woman say horrible things about me, criticising me all the time. They used to say things that I already believed about myself, things that I had been told by my emotionally abusive grandmother and bullies at school. So those were meaningful.
But I've also had random ones like a voice that shouted "cinnamon" really loudly and completely randomly one day. I've also 'heard' my house breathing, and my dog talking about "pink paperwork" that he apparently needed to do etc. So those I don't consider meaningful at all.
Coping skills helped me the most with the voices, but thankfully I don't hear voices anymore.
I hope that you find something to help
