"science based" - you are describing what SMART Recovery purports to be. I say "purports" because I attend meetings and do find it helpful but most of it is common sense. The program will be fairly simple for you until you get to the part about controlling urges and there you will come to a full stop. I think no matter how you try to stop, that is going to be the key question - how can you resist the urge?

I will tell you something else I think is common sense. The way you return to being able to learn, study, take tests and apply knowledge without adderall is stop taking adderall and then go do those things without it. It will be really hard; maybe harder than anything you've ever done before. Buckle up, buttercup; it's going to be a bumpy ride. There is no sugar coating this; I see no easy way out. I do see a way out; just not an easy way. My advice is to do the hard thing and get your life back.

BTW, I do have some insight because I abused adderall also, though maybe not as bad. My dose was 40mg of immediate release. That was enough that I had to do a step down protocol. I am now taking straterra, which helps considerably with focus but is not a stimulant.
