I've mentioned in the past how I feel my coworkers make me feel unwanted and excluded in a professional setting. But another thing I've noticed, and it makes me uncomfortable as well, is the fact that they get too comfortable with each other. I get it, they are friends and they have known each other for awhile but I still feel like there is a time and place to talk about personal problems. Some of them even do it in front of the students which I find unprofessional.
Does anyone else have coworkers that talk too mich about personal problems? If they want to talk about their issues outside of work, than go for it. That is their choice. Nothing wrong with it. But doing it during work hours just comes off as unprofessional in my opinion. How do you deal with coworkers that overshare at work? Like I mentioned before, I get it that they are friends and they can talk all they want outside of work, but I just feel like it looks bad when they do it at work, especially in front of students. Not to mentioned, it hinders concentration and productivity.
