She didn't say anything else, but she got a scared/disturbed look on her face. Because, why would I make that up?
She never went into detail, but I think her mother had dementia.
She did/said a lot of similar things.
Has this happened to anyone else? Where your therapist said something then denied it the next time you saw him/her?

no this has never happened to me... but have a suggestion... if you are worried about it happening again maybe you can record your sessions. mental health agencies in the USA do now have recording capabilities and allow their clients to bring in their own recording devices like tape recorders, cam corders, and cell phones.
another suggestion take someone to your sessions with you who can be there as an observer/ emotional support person for you but not participate in your sessions as someone doing the talking. under ADA laws any time anyone with a mental or physically challenged person wants a third person present or record their meetings and sessions the agencies have to allow it.
