I am 40 with Scitzoeffective bipolar type. I spent 2 years in extreme psychosis recently. My husband asked my parents for help and now I am doing great with my treatment. I know my Mom felt a bit of guilt thinking it was her fault, maybe something she did while carrying me. My doctor reassured me that my illness has nothing to do with anything my Mom did while carrying me. It is however, usually passed through family. I reassured my Mom and she now feels better. Your son would of entered into psychosis with or with out you. This didn't happen because you were gone. What matters is that you are here for him now. Even if he cant articulate his gratitude, I bet he feels better now having his Momma! Hugs to you!
