I try very hard to stay away from these threads, for many reasons, but...to think there is some secret tenant between all therapists that transference is used to rationalize the therapy relationship as a whole seems absolutely ridiculous.

How do you get there? Sure, you read forums (as others have pointed out, seems a very small sect of the therapeutic population), and have read books, which I feel like you read between the lines to help support your thoughts on this entire topic.
