I don't think one needs attachment issues to feel that way, the "us" in this context almost sounds like some kind of dirty secret.

Thank you!! I didn't like it. I'm gay, so it made it even more confusing. For some reason, I knew it made my stomach turn, but when I told other people about it and they in turn were upset and said it wasn't appropriate, I defended her.
They would all reply, "How would it sound if a man told a woman that? A woman who was struggling with her feelings for this man?"
Then I'd agree...it was confusing.
