I have a much better therapist. An incident happened today with my current therapist that went like this:
Me: "I'm leaving now." (I was in group during lunch and her office is in the next room.)
Her: "why?"
I was kind of confused by her question, because we can leave group and go home whenever we want to and there usually are no questions asked.
Me: "because I have stuff to do."
Her: " oh, ok"
I felt bad for being sort of standoffish so I went up to her door and said this
Me: "sorry that was kind of rude for me to say that."
Her: "I don't even know why I asked that. It's none of my business why you are leaving. Your response was appropriate."
She actually said she was in the wrong. The old therapist would of denied she did something wrong.
I felt like I should have told someone I was leaving, and she was just sitting at her desk.
We just have a good relationship and communicate well.
I really should just get over the old therapist.
