Wild Coyote mentioned it obliquely, but it bears repeating: depression, itself, plays havoc with the memory. A simple search with the terms "poor memory depression" results in scores of academic articles reinforcing this. I am of the opinion that it's more often the depression which impacts the memory than some pharmaceutical.
