I have been taking pain medication with my psych meds for almost two years now. I have very bad chronic pain from an injury and some causes they are still trying to figure out. Because the pain is so bad I don't get high from the medication, it makes it so that I can move rather than making me sluggish. Once or twice when I was really tired, having a drink, and taking my pain meds I have gotten a little woozy but that has happened like twice in the two years and I am not supposed to drink in the first place.

For about a year I was on Vicodin, tried Percocet but it didn't work and upset my stomach. Currently, I am on something called Nucynta it is both an opiate pain reliever and treats neuropathic pain. It is the only med out right now that works the way it does. Works wonders for me, I am able to take part in almost all normal activity on it.

If I was to just stop the meds I probably do have a physical chemical addiction at this point but I don't have a mental addiction to them, I use them to treat my pain and when I don't hurt I don't take them. It is normal for people with severe chronic like me to be on these types of meds for extended periods of time like I am.
Thanks for this!
