I think you have a right to know if something has happened (illness, etc). I can't imagine being in the situation you're in. My T and I have talked about what would happen if she died suddenly, and she said she has a plan in place that would involve me being contacted by one of her psychologist colleagues who would help coordinate continuing care. I don't think you have to pretend that you aren't concerned for your T's welfare by not showing up for your appointment. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. I hope your T just spaced about last Friday's appointment and you are in his office this Friday being super annoyed with him for worrying you.
