I empathize with how you feel. I think this is a common theme when people become vulnerable with one another. It would make sense that you fall in love and have feelings for someone who has helped you so much, especially when you were at your worst.
As an objective perspective, I would say it is not worth trying to romanticize the friendship you have with this person. You hear all kinds of stories about people who try and end up ruining the friendship... You really have to be careful with these kinds of feelings as they can bring out the worst in others. I would suggest you seek out some assistance with a third party to discuss this before making any major decisions.
