It sounds like sky went into the 21+ chatroom and asked the some or all enter into a supportive conversation with her? Most to all weren't willing to do that, or weren't aware of the need? I hope I have that right?

When we enter into a chatroom and it's being used for its specific purpose (and it this case it seems it was), we should enter into the existing conversation as we can, or we can do as sky did and make a specific request. In this case, as I see it, members can either grant the request or not. The conversation can split off, or move to another room.

It sounds as if the support chatroom was suggested by those who were involved in the more lighthearted conversation? If that's the case, and it was stated with respect, I think that's fine as well.

I wish I had a better answer to this, but it really seems that there was a need requested which is OK, then the need was either not understood or declined (with the suggestion of using another room somewhere), which is OK as well.

In these cases, we can either join in the majority conversation, state our needs and see if anyone begins chatting with us, move to another room and ask someone to join us, or visit chat at a later date.
