It's just sometimes the words aren't there when you need them the most and you have to learn how to explain things better. But there's this one paticular person who I just don't think I can get through to because he thinks he's always right. My psychology teacher told me once that no matter how well you explain something it just takes a while for people to see your perspective. I don't know if that really makes any sense but then again I guess it does. Maybe they need time to understand it from thier perspective or maybe they weren't even trying in the first place. I still think people should learn to explain things in the best way pissible. Maybe the more complicated you make it the better. But then maybe they would have a hard time understanding it. So then you can try to simplify it.
Yes, you can try to simplify things. When you want to try and understand someone else, you could always ask them, "so as I understand it, this is what I hear you saying.. am I accurate?" This helps to get clarity and understanding, and they can correct you where you may have misunderstood. Same goes the other way... you could tell someone, "I have a hard time explaining myself.. do you think you understand what I am trying to tell you?"

And some people just don't think from another's perspective at all. They're the hardest ones to get through to. With those people, I don't even bother trying. Or, as you said, they may need to time to let it sink in.
