Male therapist. I'm female. I tried several female therapist and they were either pretty incompetent or unprofessional (so much so that I only saw them a couple of times and ran away as fast as I could). I've had mostly positive experiences with male therapist (a couple I didn't continue with because they were like talking to a doorpost). I have nothing against female therapist except I'm done wasting money trying to find one worth paying. Really consider it mostly bad luck of the draw, not that it was a female thing -- just coincidental.
