I so often hear lately how psych meds are abused and sold on the streets. Ok benzos, and phetamines, yea I get that. But I've had people ask me for my seroquel. Really? What's so fun about being knocked out so hard you don't even dream and feeling like **** the whole next day?
And just the other day I saw an article that said "gabapentin, the new oxy" lmfao really?! Oxy has lead people to using heroin because it's cheaper. I'm pretty sure no one's pawned their moms wedding ring for some gabapentin.
Then I came across one page of an artists view while under the influence of different types of drugs and one was titled "60 mg geodon". The artists drawing was all colorful and crazy. I'm here looking at his art work like "hah yea I WISH geodon felt like that".
Sorry. I laughed a lot in this post. But really though? I'm afraid that because people are abusing these meds that one day they will become part of the stigma as "bad bad drugs" and pdocs being afraid to prescribe. I mean, something being compared to oxy when it had absolutely zero effect on me like that. And many people for that matter. Bipolar or not. I know people that were prescribed gabapentin for serious pain. Like herniated disk and fibromyalgia and they all tried it and laughed.
I'm pissed already when "healthy" people accuse me saying "you're just high on psych meds that's why you feel better". I just laugh. And laugh. I'm sorry if I offended anyone with this post but if I did it's only because I don't understand why these meds are being abused when all they do is pretty much sedate you. And I'm not talking about a nice calm sedation. I'm talking the "out cold and unable to hold a thought" type of sedation.
Ugh. I'm sorry I really don't know the point of this post. I'm just baffled and really, I'm having a terrible night and been crying like a abandoned puppy. I needed to giggle at stupidity and vent to take my mind off ****.
If everyone's having a good time on pretty much every med I've been prescribed then I must be taking them wrong lol.
