I think people can get a variety of responses from the same drug. Some drugs such as the ADHD and benzo really get some people off.....as do pain meds and sleep aids. I heard something about some people responding a certain way to Gaba. Some people think psych meds make people high. I don't even get sedation from many of them.....I'd have welcomed the sedation at the time. My husband ran a unit at a state hospital and they caught patients snorting and even injecting Wellbutrin so I guess it's a thing for some people. Without an AP, I respond sort of strongly to Wellbutrin but with this AP I'm not. People will think we are getting high cause they are misinformed through media a lot of times. I cannot tell you how many times I've seen people smoking pot on TV and the reaction they show people having to it is like a serious acid trip more than cannabis! A lot of people really think it's like that! And who knows, for some people it's maybe like that but not that I've ever witnessed. People are very influenced by the media. There is a strong anti-psychiatry and anti-med groups out there. People don't know what it's really like unless they have it or someone they are VERY close to has it. People are very ignorant on the topic and mental illness is "hushed" so that true awareness in going to be a long battle.
