Actually messenger messages you can only delete in your own file. Once it's sent to the other person it's sent & deleting it in your file doesn't delete it in the file of the person you sent it to any more than deleting a sent email deletes the email in the send to persons file.
I have always looked at anything I send text, messenger, email to be just like having a face to face conversation & choose my words accordingly. I have had some nasty face to face conversations (especially with ex) so there was a time where I didn't care what I wrote.
Time has helped & so has where I am in my life.....though I do have times where there is a point that needs to be made & try hard to write it in a way to get that across in the nicest possible way that still gets my point across.
What I hate is when I send a text to the wrong person & they are wondering what in the world I'm talking about....I have received a few of those too.
Once I his send, I have thought through the wording well enough there is no need for delete.
